Plato's " Crito” is one of the many tremendously important pieces of literary works produced in ancient Greece. It is a thought-provoking, philosophical discussion regarding the role of the individual within society, and how to take care of injustice. Within a series of fabricated dialogues between Socrates and other characters, " Crito” relates to the conflict Socrates can be presented with, as he awaits execution. Crito, certainly one of Socrates' close friends, urges Socrates to escape penitentiary while this individual still can easily. Crito presents several fights to rationalize his avoid, including the pity he would withstand from the community for letting his friend die, and the poor example it would established for the children of Athens. However , Socrates carefully evaluates each of Crito's arguments for getting away, and proves them invalid through common sense and deductive reasoning.
